We are officially open for business.

A few weeks ago we hosted our first Fall Open House. After years of dreaming, working, building, and planning, the farm is finally ready to welcome visitors and share our bounty. As people arrived and enjoyed some coffee cake and cozy beverages, my eldest son commented to me “Hey it is really working! There are people here we don’t know.” In that moment I realized we have made our transition from homestead to a fully working farm.
Homestead life is one of welcoming friends and family, but now we can reach further beyond our circles and bring the magic of Ma’alot Farms to a wider audience. People can share in the joy of interacting with our super friendly goats, can taste the farm products at our market, and can participate in the learning that is central to everything at the farm.
Everyday life on the farm is always busy, with a never ending to do list, and a constantly growing list of ideas of things we can add or change to make the farm even better. It is what makes this endeavor so much fun and engaging, and having the opportunity to share that with all our visitors at the open house makes me so excited about the seasons to come.
